Job Summary:
The Director of Contracting will be a strategic team member responsible for all contracting and program development with the client's suppliers and customer organizations. The Director will do competitive analysis and customer needs analysis. He/she will establish and maintain policies and procedures for the contracting department. He/she will develop and communicate programs to customers and to the field sales force.
Key Job Responsibilities:
In addition to strategic initiatives mentioned above the Director will supervise four contracting department employees. He/she will develop and negotiate all contracts with key manufacturers and distributor partners.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 8 years experience in purchasing/contracting in the healthcare industry is required with relevant experience in foodservice, medical supplies, office equipment and supplies, and maintenance items. The preference is for someone experienced in purchasing commodities for a large institution. A college degree or equivalent executive experience is required. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate outstanding negotiating skills.
