Our client is a leading producer of polymers and other chemical performance materials that serve niche industries to include food and beverage,water treatment and agricultural process industries.
Job Summary:
The client is seeking a Chemical Sales Representative for a newly created territory to include Illinois, Iowa, South Dakota, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. There are existing accounts, but the area has not been covered on a regular basis. The selected candidate will work from a home office and travel between 35-45% of the time. The ideal location will be the Kansas City area, but other cities within the territory will be acceptable.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Duties include sales call planning, sales calls, new business prospecting, account management and distributor management. Position will interface with Production, Quality, Customer Service, Technical Service and R&D. Selected candidate will leverage basic chemistry knowledge to pursue application opportunities. Individual will also perform limited marketing for new products, market analysis, pricing, packaging and quality.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
BA/BS in Science, Engineering or an other applicable degree. 3-5 years successful experience in Chemical or related sales with a track record of success. Experience selling into or working for the water treatment or food and beverage industry is highly desirable. Base compensation will be in the $60-65K range plus a car, bonus and benefits. The Sales Director feels that the selected individual can earn six figures in year two or three.
Additional Comments:
Our client will provide relocation assistance to a Cincinnati area renter willing to move to the Kansas City area.
