Client Summary:

Our High-Tech manufacturing client is a pioneering leader in the radio frequency communications market.  They design and manufacture a suite of RF products and systems for the DOD and commercial markets.  They are dedicated to innovation, quality, and absolute customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:

This is a contract position that will work for at least 6 months with the opportunity to become a permanent position.  Position could involve all phases of development.  Test software is written in Visual Basic .NET using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

Key Full-Time Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for developing and supporting software typically requiring the following functionality:

Automated control of proprietary RF products utilizing serial RS-232 communication

Automated measurement of product performance utilizing GPIB test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc.)

Collection and display of measured data

Storage of measured data in SQL Server 2000, CSV and/or XML file format

Customer report generation using SQL Server Reporting Services

Responsible for the management of the entire software development lifecycle:

• Requirements gathering
• Design
• Peer reviews
• Coding & implementation
• Test & verification
• Deployment
• Production support

Responsible for source control of software projects, utilizing Microsoft Visual SourceSafe and/or Borland StarTeam.

Responsible for developing SRS (Software Requirements Specification) documents and unit tests for software projects.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience developing object-oriented software using Visual Basic .NET is required. C# experience would be acceptable as well.

Experience using a Revision Control System for software development is required (preferably Microsoft Visual SourceSafe or Borland StarTeam).

Experience with multithreading .NET windows applications is highly preferred.

Experience designing Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle databases is highly preferred.

Experience with singleton, class factory, model/view/presenter design patterns is preferred.

Experience with the development of test software for RF Products is a plus.

Experience supporting software in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Experience with Test-Driven Development is a plus.

Experience with ASP.NET is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

Ability to actively participate in cross-functional and departmental team based projects.
