The BiG Idea: A message from our President, Tom Gilman
2009 has been a difficult and challenging year for many businesses, including ours. However, in recent weeks we have seen a nice increase in activity. The unemployment rate for individuals over the age of 25 with a college degree has decreased to less than 5% (a fact not covered very much by the mainstream media), and the baby boomers continue to age. We’ve spoken with a number of companies recently who have decided the world is not going to end and that they need to add executive talent now to prepare for the future. We expect this trend to accelerate in 2010.
As we enter the new year, more than ever we know that we're only successful when our clients are successful in identifying and attracting the very best people for their organizations. As a result, we've decided to add more value to our services. The inclusion of the BG Behavioral Assessment to our retained search process is a primary example. This assessment will enable us to work more closely with our clients to ensure that we identify those candidates who have the qualifications as well as the behavioral characteristics needed to succeed long term.
Also we're rolling out this newsletter as a way of providing additional insight into the employment market and to let you know about some of the things we're seeing and hearing. Please give us your thoughts.
Thanks for your support in 2009. We're looking forward to working with you during the new year.
